Robert E. Lee Park

This past Wednesdaycm we had a great time at Robert E. Lee Park!

We learned more about the animals that live in our watershed and the food chain.

We also learned what toads do when they are scared...glad I wasn't holding him!

Then we all were assigned roles and played a part in history, as we saw how man and industry have affected the Bay.

All the pollutants!
The final result; we decided we would not drink or swim in this water!
Our last guided activity was a hike and lesson on native plants.

This sassafras is ok...

These leaves of three are not!
Last stop: a beaver dam.
It was a a wonderful field trip!

Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us!

Who's On First?

Baseball season is officially under way!  Yesterday the third grade celebrated Opening Day with a game of baseball (we have some seriously heavy hitters among us), hot dogs (some serious eater too), baseball-related guessing games, and the classic "Who's on First" comedy sketch by Abbot and Costello.  I have to tell you that their enjoyment of such a classic warmed my heart!

Play Ball!
