Industrious Inventions and Inventors

To say that yesterday's field trip was amazing, incredible, and in my opinion the best one to date, would be an understatement!  From the bus arriving 20 minutes early (that's right early!) to the kids working in teams to create their own roller coasters, everything was terrific!  The teacher in me glowed with pride as I was able to see my students, your children, blow the tour guides away with their answers to questions about inventions and industry.  They then asked their own insightful questions, which made it clear that they were making connections left and right and taking what they have been learning over the past couple months, and extending it.  It was just so cool!

Here are some pictures from the day:

Multiplication Masters!

This past Friday during math at 9 am we took a break from the numbers and indulged in some well-deserved ice cream.  Why?  Because we have learned our multiplication facts up to 11 x 11!  Congratulations to my incredible math class!  You all were dedicated to learning your facts and becoming masters of multiplication...BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES!  I know I am very proud of you :)

Oh and in case you all were worried that I may leave teaching to pursue a career in an ice cream shop (apparently the kids think I've "got skills") never fear, Ms. Waters is here to stay!

Congratulations!

LOVE this crew!

Quite the spread! Thank you parents for sending in the toppings!
